Kathy Bash, Architect
DMS Architects
Kathy is an architect licensed in Oregon as well as a LEED Accredited Professional and has a Certificate for Teaching Technology in Architecture. Her current work focuses on buildings that use integrated on-site generation for combined heat and power, and that have a significant portion of their water needs met with captured rain fall. In her "other career," Kathy was a founding partner of Pacific Air Switch Corporation, a manufacturer of high voltage switches for the utility industry. She is an advocate of multi-disciplinary design, and has a passion for innovative technology and for finding peaceful solutions to our expanding infrastructure and energy needs. Kathy’s husband James cheerfully supports her effort in pushing their 1923 bungalow toward net zero energy. They currently enjoy solar hot water and a 3kw solar electric system, and they have on-going experiments with biodiesel, used veggie oil and biomass.
