Jill Sughrue

Jill Sughrue is a professional trainer and sustainability consultant, facilitating workshops and strategic planning for businesses, educators, governments, realtors and non-profits. She is a presenter with Al Gore’s The Climate Project, an associate with The Natural Step Network and an active volunteer with the Northwest Earth Institute (NWEI) where she assisted with development of their course guides on Climate Change and Sustainable Systems at Work.  Jill spent over 27 years in the risk management arena, including 16 years with Portland General Electric, before leaving corporate America in 2005 to start Sustain NW, LLC.  In 2009, Jill co-founded and chairs the Lower Columbia Alliance for Living Sustainably (LOCALS) in Southwest Washington.

A Northwest native, Jill and her husband, Patrick, of Structures NW, designed and self-constructed their high-performance home in 1998 using Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) and many reclaimed materials.  They purchase 100% renewable power through Clark Public Utility’s Green Lights, have installed a solar hot-water system, offset their carbon emissions annually and are working diligently to reduce their ecological footprint.
